I received a Bachelor of
Music in Music Education from Columbia College in Columbia, South
Carolina. I received a Master of Education in Elementary Education
from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South
Carolina. In addition, I have earned thirty hours beyond my
master's degree with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education.
I taught music in grades 1 - 5 in Dillon
School District Two in Dillon, South Carolina, for six years. I
have taught music as well as third and fourth grades at North Springs
Elementary in Richland School District Two, in Columbia, South
Carolina. I am presently teaching fourth grade at Round Top Elementary
and this is my 29th year in education. I earned my National Board
Professional Teaching certification in 2000 with a Middle School
Generalist certificate.
Some of my interests include reading
mysteries, walking, and playing the piano. I enjoy spending time
with my husband, Lewis, and our two children, Jim and Liz. Jim is
a senior at The Citadel and Liz is a sophomore at The University of
South Carolina.
